VMP Covergirl - Rachel Winner
This week’s VMP Covergirl is……Rachel Winner!🎉
Like so many in the project, Rachel came through another participant, which I love for so many reasons.
As a long time advertising Exec, she launched on a health journey, made a lot of positive changes in her life, essentially rebranded herself and wanted to reflect that confidence, independence and strength in a beautiful way.
Here’s what she had to say about this time in her life:
💎Did you have any older female role models when you were younger? Who were they and what impact did they have on you? Did they give you any advice that really helped you?
My female role models were my mom and my grandmother. They were both very strong women who did not work outside of the home. They had such a huge impact on me on how I am as a mom to my two children. I am the mother I am because of them. I learned how to be such a great parent and role model because of what they showed me growing up.
💎How did you mark turning 50? How did that feel to you?
I marked turning 50 with a personal development training trip to Dallas, Texas in April 2022. It felt really good to put the focus on me and bettering myself.
💎What advice would you give your younger self?
I feel better at 51, than I ever did in my 30s or 40s. When I turned 50, I put the focus on self care for the first time in my life. I now take supplements, drink my water and exercise daily. I would tell my younger self to focus on self care starting in my 20s, and continue that in life.
💎Do you feel like you've changed since you've turned 50? Example: have your values or your perception of being attractive changed?
I have absolutely changed since I turned 50. I love who I am so much more because I take care of myself.
💎What positives have come from being over 50?
Turning 50 was a wake up call to me to start to take care of my overall health and wellness. I look better, and more importantly I feel better. Focusing on self care and personal development have helped me be a better mom, a better friend and better in my professional life.
💎Do you have any goals or projects you're working on? What dreams do you have for the future?
I am working on my financial health by working full time on my job and part time on my fortune.
💎What is your best advice for other women who are coming up on turning 50?
My best advice for other women turning 50 would be to put yourself first and focus on self care. It's so important!
💎How would you like people to describe you or see you? What do you most want people to remember about you?
I would love for people to describe me as beautiful on the inside and healthy on the outside.
💎Why are beautiful photos important to you right now?
The 50over50 project is very important to me to share this experience with other women over 50, whom I can relate and celebrate with.
Congratulations Rachel! 🎉
