VMP Covergirl - Tracy Accord-Oliver

Confident over 50 career woman

Our VMP Covergirl this week is……… Tracy Accord-Oliver!

Aside from having the best first name ever , Tracy is a force of nature. As a TV producer, she works hard on interesting projects and makes sure she’s able to be there for her family.

She decided to celebrate turning 50 with a photoshoot because she was “looking for ways to mark the occasion. Something for me, myself, and I. I think we as women lose ourselves in our families, and our jobs. I wanted to celebrate my glorious self! And I want to experience myself in a different way than selfies. I love portrait photography. There is so much depth to a person's face. I also believe a photographer can see something special in you that you can't always see in yourself.”

On her role models:

“My grandmothers were both strong in their own ways. They were full of spunk, sass and were outspoken. My father's mother always gave me "mad money" she said so when you are on a date and he does something to make you mad - you don't have to worry about how you'll get home. I think that proved to me - a woman shouldn't NEED a man in her life, but it's fine to CHOOSE to have one.”

On motherhood:

"I had my only child when I was nearly 42. As an older mom, I appreciate the small things...I stop, admire and enjoy much more because I know how fast time moves."

On turning 50:

“I know now, that I am stronger than I could have ever imagined. There is a peacefulness I struggled to find for many years. I remember praying for the things I have now - and I am filled with gratitude to appreciate that fact. I value a good laugh, those moments are precious and how you treat everyone is how you are remembered.”

“This age allows you to appreciate the uniqueness of individuals, including myself. I am quick to offer compliments to complete strangers because we should say out loud what we think. "Nice shoes, great color on you, your make-up is stunning..."

Would you go back to 25?

"NO! Life gets so much better after your 20's. The confidence and peace which eludes you at 25 -- you find in your prime. There is an ease that comes with wisdom - which is the best part of aging."

Her advice to her younger self:

“Everything you pray for will come true - exactly when it is supposed to. Appreciate the journey because it shapes you like nothing else can.”

What are you up to now?

“This year's goal is to simplify and organize my life. As for my dreams for the future, I want to live wide-open and honestly. I want to make a difference in people's lives and experience new adventures.”

Bravo! Che bella!

Congratulations

Tracy!
